March Math Puzzles

Students will begin by solving problems based on various math skills, such as addition, subtraction, and mixed equations. Then, they will self-check by placing the piece to solve the puzzle. If the numbers do not match, students know it is an incorrect answer. If the numbers match, students will see a March-themed picture come alive, such as a rainbow and leprechaun.
In addition to the puzzles, there are journal writing pages. Students will be amazed to see math and writing come together. Additionally, there are Color by Number pictures for early finishers.
Step-by-Step Craft Projects for March

Learning how to write sentences takes a lot of practice. Thankfully, there are Secret Sentences ready to incorporate when celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Students will begin by identifying the first letter sound of small picture icons to decode a secret sentence. For instance, a picture of an apple represents the letter a. Then, students will write each letter to decode words in a simple sentence. Once students decode the sentence, they print it neatly and self-edit it. Afterward, they will show their comprehension of the sentence by drawing a matching picture. Students will be proud of their sentences and eager to read them to a partner!
Ultimately, students will create, read, write, and self-edit complete, simple sentences on each activity page. They will have so much fun and love cracking the code!
