    Rainbows and Pop-Up Books

Spring is finally here after a week of snow! We’re trying to brighten the room a bit by hanging these cute rainbow clouds from strings.
So simple that not much explanation is needed! The kids cut out their names, and then added one word about themselves on each rainbow color.

Cute and easy craft idea with rainbows and clouds
We tried a cool art technique using these  St. Patrick’s Day stained glass coloring sheets.
Color them with markers and then take a drop of any cooking oil and rub over top of the paper. It makes the markers translucent, which look great!

We are getting ready for BusyTown again at our school. This is a fantastic way to teach about communities because each student runs their own little store or office as parents visit. Our kindergarten teachers spend a lot of time preparing for this day, and it’s always a huge hit! I have a ton of pictures of it  HERE!

If you’d like to see more step-by-step photo tutorials, you can choose from these huge collections of art lessons for elementary classrooms. Each has lots of photos, a teacher script to read aloud to students, and literacy components to deepen thinking and expression through writing.   CLICK HERE to take a peek!

Easy art lessons for elementary students. Includes lots of writing extensions and a teacher script to read aloud as you introduce the topic. Enough to fill your entire year with art!

Art Around The World has 18 easy lessons for elementary and read aloud scripts for the teacher, plus lots of literacy projects relating to each culture

Busy Town may be the CUTEST thing that I have ever seen! I love it! Did it take a long time to plan? I bet parents just love it, too. Your pop-up writing is wonderful, too-and… so are those rainbows! Do you think I loved your ideas? 🙂 Happy Friday!

Thank you so much for the cute Leprechaun! My students will dance a jig when I let them color this instead of doing their morning work on St. Patty's Day!
