Teachers often find students doodling throughout the day. So, incorporating this interest into academics is a great way to build engagement. Thankfully, this resource does all the work for you! It integrates core math skills with writing and fun doodles!
One of the best parts of math doodles involves all options and flexibility. For instance, students can work on multiple math skills through festive St. Patrick’s Day lessons. This allows all students to show growth on the level appropriate for them.
Specifically, there are 8 unique art designs and 16 math rule cards. Teachers can even create their own cards. Then, there are 8 differentiated writing templates!
When using math doodles, teachers select a math rule to practice, such as double your number. Each student can receive the same math rule or different ones based on the differentiation needed. Then, they provide students with a rule card to help them remember the skill. After, students will spin or roll to make an equation. The grid holds 20 equations for lots of practice! After students match their answers to the corresponding doodle on the chart, they get creative! Students will work on the picture until they complete all questions. They can even work on a writing activity when they finish the picture.
