St. Patrick’s Day Lesson and Activities

Students will soon talk about leprechauns, pots of gold, and wearing green! Honestly, seeing how excited they become over St. Patrick’s Day is cool! They don’t need any presents or fancy celebrations. Instead, they immerse themselves in all things green! Thankfully, there are many fun St. Patrick’s Day lessons and activities for teachers to build into lessons. Students will love the themed activities, whether celebrating throughout the month or on the special day. 

St. Patrick’s Day Clip Art 

Teachers work so hard to add festive elements to lessons. Whether working on addition, subtraction, or reading, students love to see relevant pictures. So, this bundle of clip art creates the perfect way to add a special touch to lessons or the classroom. For instance, there are tons of pictures of St. Patrick’s Day items, such as rainbows and pots of gold. Additionally, there are leprechaun and shamrock emotions in clip art. So, teachers can use this to help students explain how they feel. Honestly, there are many fantastic ways to add clip art to St. Patrick’s Day lessons. 

St. Patrick’s Day Math Puzzles 

Students love puzzles! So, these are the perfect activities to add to St. Patrick’s Day lessons and activities. There are 4 seasonal self-checking math puzzles, each with 6 differentiated versions. Additionally, there are 2 seasonal Color-by-Numbers for early finishers and 5 seasonal journal writing pages. 

Students will create a picture by cutting apart nine square pieces. Then, they will glue them onto matching answers. Skills include addition to 10, subtraction to 10, mixed to 10, doubles, mixed equations, and double digits without regrouping. 

After completing the self-checking puzzle, students can even work on writing templates. Or, these can work great in your weekly writing centers.

Math Doodles for February and March 

Teachers often find students doodling throughout the day. So, incorporating this interest into academics is a great way to build engagement. Thankfully, this resource does all the work for you! It integrates core math skills with writing and fun doodles! 

One of the best parts of math doodles involves all options and flexibility. For instance, students can work on multiple math skills through festive St. Patrick’s Day lessons. This allows all students to show growth on the level appropriate for them. 

Specifically, there are 8 unique art designs and 16 math rule cards. Teachers can even create their own cards. Then, there are 8 differentiated writing templates! 

When using math doodles, teachers select a math rule to practice, such as double your number. Each student can receive the same math rule or different ones based on the differentiation needed. Then, they provide students with a rule card to help them remember the skill. After, students will spin or roll to make an equation. The grid holds 20 equations for lots of practice! After students match their answers to the corresponding doodle on the chart, they get creative! Students will work on the picture until they complete all questions. They can even work on a writing activity when they finish the picture.
