Easter Activities In First Grade - Whimsy Workshop Teaching

Even though I have my favorite Easter crafts and activities that I try year after year, I’m always on the lookout for new ideas that my students will love.

There’s an endless supply of Easter eggs, Easter bunnies, and little chicks all over the classroom walls and hallways, and so many creative ideas! Here are some Easter activities from my classroom that require very little planning or prep.

If we can mix in a bit of writing, then it’s even better! I rarely do any kind of craft without attaching some writing to it. Students love writing about their own art, and Easter crafts are no exception! As you can see below, I always have lots of writing templates available for journal time, or for my writing center.

FREE Easter Directed Drawing

Have you tried whole group directed drawing videos? They are a teacher’s best friend! All students need is a paper and pencil to get started. Next, click PLAY on a projected video and student just draw along! These make the cutest art and you can pause the video any time you need to, or play it a few times when students finish their drawings or color. And of course, they can write about their drawing as well!
